<p>After launching from a Saturn V rocket, the three Apollo 11 astronauts traveled for three days from the Earth to the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin were the first two to land the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on <b>July 20, 1969</b>. They collected 47.5 pounds of lunar material to bring back to Earth. Meanwhile, Command module pilot Michael Collins flew the command module Columbia alone in lunar orbit. </p>
